I've been President for this club for about two years now and I'm starting to see this club get really big. About five different clubs want to do co-sponsorships with us this year and we might even be doing a fund-raiser event with some of the community-service orientated groups. I'm all about community service; I hope this plan doesn't fall through.
Our Public Relations officer is a lovely girl named Ariel Hou. She made this awesome flier for us (pictured below). I simply love her creative design; she used different games to spell out our games club. Can you tell what each letter references?
PLAY is just a wonderful club to run. We just play video games, board/card games and we are pretty chill all the way around. I've met so many people through this club and I feel as though I've made lifelong friends just playing games with cool people. It's nice though, that we aren't cliquey; we always accept new members and they become integrated with our group.
I seriously don't get it when some people say that we are a dorky or nerdy club. Sure, some gamers are dorky and socially awkward, but what club/institution/party doesn't have that? Games are a social activity that really bring people together. While people play games, we talk about games, our lives and school. Video games and board games brew a friendly, competitive atmosphere that not only entertain us, but bring us together. Gaming is a rare medium that can be incredibly fun and social and fill up silent gaps.
